The Department of Consumer and Employment Protection (DOCEP) works with the community to ensure high standards of safety and protection for workers and consumers.

DOCEP was formed on 1 July 2001. The Department has seven divisions: Consumer Protection, EnergySafety, Labour Relations, Resources Safety - formerly the Safety and Health Division of the Department of Industry and Resources - WorkSafe, Corporate Services and the Office of the Director General.
